Alistair Parnell, a graduate of the Royal College of Music, is based in Nottingham, UK. His multifaceted career encompasses teaching, performing, composing, arranging, and conducting. 

 

For over four decades, he has successfully run his private teaching studio, and he holds the  position of Visiting Scholar of Saxophone at the University of Nottingham.

 

As a performer, Alistair has collaborated with some of the country’s most renowned ensembles, including the CBSO and the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group. He also leads two innovative ensembles: the Equinox Saxophone Ensemble and the Blackwood Clarinet Ensemble.

 

As a soloist, Alistair has released two acclaimed CDs, “Going Solo” and “Winter Solstice,” and is highly sought after as a recitalist. His performances have taken him across the UK, the USA, and Europe, and he has appeared at five prestigious World Saxophone Congresses.

 

Alistair is a leading advocate for the electronic wind instrument and is a product artist for the Roland Aerophone. In 2022 he established the iSax.Academy, an online platform to encourage and teach wind synth players from all around the world.

Originally from Hampshire, Owen moved to the Midlands in 2013 to study Music at the University of Nottingham.  After graduating with First Class Honours, he was offered a scholarship to study an MA in Music, specialising in contemporary composition.

​

He is currently in the process of writing a new musical, and a Christmas album...! Owen has performed across the country, as well as internationally.

​

In 2014 he attended the first Vai Academy in New York, where he attended masterclasses and shared the stage with guitar icons such as Steve Vai, Guthrie Govan and Vernon Reid. His genres include rock, jazz, blues, funk, and even avant-garde.

​

He regularly performs with the Nottingham-based latin band The Sugar Tree and tours with Dorset-based tributes 'Sounds Like...The Seekers', 'Sounds Like...The 60s' and 'She Will Rock You'. Owen also teaches guitar and bass at Nottingham Girls' High School, leads a choir in Wollaton, and is heavily involved with the music charity Musicworks.
