A welcome from the Minister
Hi, my name is Jimi Kaci. I’m the minister for
Anstey, Markfield and Ratby Methodist Churches and
share St Andrew’s Leicester Forest East (joint Anglican/Methodist)
with my Anglican colleague Rev Dave Hover.
My name is Jimione (Jimi). My wife Miriama (Miri) and I are originally from Fiji.
I first had experience of working in the Methodist Church in England when we came to the Sandbach and Alsager Circuit in the Stoke and Chester District under the World Church in Britain Partnership in 2003. I had pastoral oversight of three Churches.
We went back to Fiji after five years in 2008 where I worked as a Circuit Minister for almost two years.
We came back to England on a 50/50 partnership programme with the Methodist Church and I was stationed at the Dove Valley Circuit.
I spent half of my working time looking after the Fijians who had come to join the British Army and was able to set up the Fijian Methodist Fellowship which comprises all Fijians in the Armed Forces plus some nurses working in the NHS in Stoke on Trent and others working with Network Rail.
The other half I worked with two Churches in the Trent and Dove Circuit. before moving to the Stafford Circuit where I served for 5 years.
My wife has supported me throughout my ministry. We have one daughter and four grandchildren. We love singing and doing some gardening. I love to watch sports and love meeting new people.
We love welcoming people to our manse, for conversation and maybe to enjoy some Fijian way of cooking food, spending time in fellowship and learning more of life in Fiji.
